Oak Bookshelf and Chest

Image
I am now on Instagram! Follow me at  www.instagram.com/fun_minecraft_builds/ This design tries to make the most of function and beauty in a tiny space. Place upside-down stairs down on each side and some bookshelves above them. The top layer is made of oak slabs. In the middle of the build is a chest with trapdoors placed above it that act as the shelves. As decoration, add a lantern and a potted plant on the shelves.  For this build I stuck to using oak wood materials because they work well with the bookshelves. To change it up feel free to try using a different style of wood. You could also replace the chest with barrels, crafting tables, or other crafting stations.  As usual, let me know how your build turns out :) Our Minecraft builder/author also makes shirts! If you would like to support the blog, please consider checking them out below!

Staircase Bookshelf

Image
I am now on Instagram! Follow me at  www.instagram.com/fun_minecraft_builds/ A fun and simple bookshelf build that is designed to look like a staircase. For this build you need to combine bookshelves and barrels in a grid format. On the tallest side, add some oak trap doors to create a wall of sorts. As for the decorations, feel free to add an arrangement of potted plants and lanterns on the top of each stair.  Video Tutorial:  Try doubling up the build and making the staircase even larger. You could also make a second staircase and mirror it with the first set to make more of a pyramid shape.  As usual, please let me know how your build turns out :)

Tall Crimson Bookshelf

Image
A made a new bookshelf design with crimson themed blocks and decorations. The materials used include stripped crimson wood, barrels, bookshelves, a soul lantern and potted plants. I also added in a crafting table for additional functionality. This build would look create in a nether fortress if you were to convert one into your base. It also works for homes found in crimson wood biomes or those that are nether themed as a whole.  To create another adaptation of this bookshelf try using warped wood instead of crimson. The build would remain the exact same but would be a teal blue colour.  As usual, please let me know how your build turns out :)

Diorite Lava Fireplace

Image
If you are looking to spice up your Minecraft base living room, consider building this fireplace. The build combines smooth diorite, glass, leaves and lava. Add some chairs and/or a table in front to make it more of a living or meeting space. Make sure to be extra careful when placing the lava in survival mode, and always put the leaves on after the lava has been contained in the middle.  The chairs used in the photos are made from smooth diorite slabs and birch trap doors.  Granite, smooth stone and stone bricks will also work well for the fireplace and furniture if any of those materials work better with the design of your base.  As usual, let me know how your build turns out :)

Simple and Modern Berry Planter

Image
This is a super simple yet very modern looking plant display for outdoor areas and yards. All that is required to make this build is black concrete, one grass block, a berry bush, and a lantern.  If you like this design, consider putting more than one side-by-side to create a beautiful wall design. You could also try using other concrete colours. Another interchangeable piece of this build is the berry bush itself. Consider placing in a leaf block, flower, or potted plant to replace the bush. As usual, let me know how your build turns out :)

Fancy Checkered Plant Shelves

Image
Checkered Shelves are a tasteful way to showcase plants, framed items, or mob heads. All that is required to make this build is white and black concrete and the item you wish to showcase in the middle. I used a dark oak sapling and cactus because they are some of my favourite potted plants and they look striking against the concrete blocks. Feel free to get creative with this layout and add more squares into the mix. You could even make an entire wall with this pattern of shelves!  As usual, let me know how your build turns out :)

Fancy Painting Display with Bushes

Image
This elegant painting display combines modern design aesthetic with natural and organic aesthetic. Through the use of white concrete, grass blocks, trap doors, bushes, and a large painting, this simple build will bring an empty wall in your Minecraft home to life. Add lanterns (or soul lanterns) for lighting in front of the painting. This build works best in modern home designs that use concrete for their walls. If you aren't the biggest fan of berry bushes then substitute them out for a nice flower arrangement or some leaf blocks. Blue and red flowers tend to go well with the white concrete! As usual, let me know how your build turns out :)

Bunk Bed and Couch

Image
I am now on Instagram! Follow me at  www.instagram.com/fun_minecraft_builds/ This is a simple bedroom build that combines a couch with a bunk bed. The build uses a small amount of space and can fit into most tiny Minecraft houses and bases. Materials used in this build are stripped logs, ladders to access the bed, trap doors as the bed frame, stairs as the couch, and lanterns/plants to decorate. Once it is completed you will be able to sleep comfortably, and even have a guest over to crash on the couch! As usual, let me know how your build turns out :) Our Minecraft builder/author also makes shirts! If you would like to support the blog, please consider checking them out below!

Hidden Bed Bookcase

Image
I am now on Instagram! Follow me at www.instagram.com/fun_minecraft_builds/ This is a very interesting combination of a bookcase and a bed. The bed is hidden behind two doors in the middle of the barrels and bookcases. Materials include bookshelves, barrels, beds, a painting and some lighting or plants as decoration. Add this build into a library in your base. The bed might come in handy when you need to sleep on the fly! Also, it is very important to leave the top open with a secret exit so that you can escape the bed without taking any damage (see below). As usual, let me know how your build turns out :) Thank you for looking at my Minecraft builds! I appreciate your interest. Large Spruce Bookshelf

Image
A large horizontal bookshelf made out of spruce themed blocks, barrels and books. This is an upgrade version of the mini spruce bookshelf build I posted before. If you look carefully, I have added a spruce door in the middle rather than trap doors. Use this door to make a secret tunnel from the bookshelf to another room in your house!  This bookshelf works in larger spaces and rooms, and would be fitting for a Minecraft mansion. You can also try adding this build into a library, big or small, to break away from standard and boring bookshelf designs.  As usual, let me know how your build turns out :)

Mini Spruce Bookshelf

Image
I am now on Instagram! Follow me at  www.instagram.com/fun_minecraft_builds/ A miniature bookshelf made out of spruce logs, trap doors, barrels and books. Add one of these into your Minecraft bedroom or living room, or multiple to build a library. The small and compact design will allow it to fit into most spaces. The inspiration for this design came from a small and company IKEA display bookcase.  Tutorial Video:  The wood style you use for this build can change based on what the theme of your base is. The logs, trap doors and potted plants should be unified to one wood style, otherwise it gets a little too overwhelming to look at.  As usual, let me know how your build turns out :) Our Minecraft builder/author also makes shirts! If you would like to support the blog, please consider checking them out below!

Spruce Log Bunk Bed

Image
This bunk bed design was created with an arrangement of spruce themed blocks and decorations. Use barrels for storage, potted spruce saplings for decoration and whatever tool/crafting blocks that are the most useful to you. Add spruce trapdoors around the outside of the logs to add a slick exterior to the build.  If spruce logs are not available to you, try making this bunk bed out of other wood types. In my opinion, oak and dark oak are viable alternatives to spruce for this.  As usual, let me know how your build turns out :)

Fancy Diorite Couch

Image
This simple yet fancy couch design is made out of diorite, red sandstone slabs, white concrete and shroomlight blocks. Decorate with potted plants. Place this couch in modern Minecraft house next to a minimal fireplace or aquarium.  Try making this couch with granite or sandstone instead of diorite. Any smooth stone styled blocks could be used while maintaining that classy modern look. As usual, let me know how your build turns out :)

Underground Minecart Unloading Area

Image
This simple underground build functions as an on-the-fly minecart unloading and ore smelting area. Combine rail tracks, stone bricks, furnaces, fences, and barrels to complete this build. Stone buttons can be added to make it look like there are small rocks on the ground. In my version of this build I only used stone bricks, but to add more depth to it you could mix in some cracked and mossy stone bricks. This could help the structure look more ancient or aged in comparison.  As usual, let me know how your build turns out :)

Sandstone Barrel Planter

Image
A very simple yet elegant barrel planter made with sandstone. This build looks great on its own but also works in a pattern side by side, making a wall of sorts. You can put this build indoors or outdoors. If you are building a base in the desert or making a desert village, consider using this design.  Feel free to change out any of the sandstone blocks and walls with red sandstone. Both block styles will work very well.  As usual, let me know how your build turns out :)

Fancy Double Oak Bookcase

Image
This is a fancy bookcase design that uses oak and dark oak blocks. Decorate the bookcase with a ladder, some plants and lanterns for light. Barrels can also be added to the build to make it also function as a storage area.   Definitely try to get creative with this build by combining different wood styles. I used oak and dark oak for this build, but it might be cool to mix something like spruce and birch wood. I would not recommend using more than two wood styles. As usual, let me know how your build turns out :)

Underground Minecart Staircase

Image
This is a simple yet attractive underground minecart area with some stairs attached to it. The blocks used contain stone bricks, minecart tracks, barrels, furnaces, fences and trap doors. The wood style you use can vary based on the look you are going for. Add this to your underground base or mineshaft.  Don't just limit yourself to adding standard minecarts here. Furnace and dispenser minecarts are viable alternatives to the standard minecart and can also provide additional functionality to the build.  As usual, let me know how your build turns out :)

Barrels and Jungle Plants

Image
This is a very simple and easy outdoor storage Minecraft build that combines barrels, potted jungle plants, and a single trap door. Lighting can be added with a hanging jungle fence post and a lantern. Decorate this build with tropical plants and place them in whatever arrangement you like!  You could replace a barrel for a chest on the left or right sides to change up the style. The idea for this build is to function as a storage area so if you have ideas for how to grow the size of this build (to fit more items) please share! As usual, let me know how your build turns out :)

Simple Jungle Bench

Image
I am now on Instagram! Follow me at  www.instagram.com/fun_minecraft_builds/ The idea for this jungle themed bench came from an outdoor sitting area in my neighbourhood. The build combines jungle fences, gates, stairs, leaves and some lanterns. Add this to the outside of your Minecraft house for a cute and welcoming aesthetic.  This build could be used in a sever spawn because they tend to be very social areas. It would also work well for park builds or outside of an apartment building As usual, let me know how your build turns out :)

Outdoor Jungle Seat

Image
I created this bench out of jungle wood, planks, stairs and vines. This build works well in jungle themed homes and in outdoor jungle areas. Mix both the logs and planks to make the seat look aged and organic.

Nether Brewing Station

Image
This build was created out of the new nether wood materials and is intended for use as a brewing station. The design is simple and uses vert little space. Add it into the nether itself if you have a base there or put it in a nether themed house or dungeon in the overworld.

Crimson Closet

Image
A closet and clothing display closet made of crimson wood materials from the nether and some barrels. This design looks best with a blue lantern and a potted nether plant.
