Oak Bookshelf and Chest

This design tries to make the most of function and beauty in a tiny space. Place upside-down stairs down on each side and some bookshelves above them. The top layer is made of oak slabs. In the middle of the build is a chest with trapdoors placed above it that act as the shelves. As decoration, add a lantern and a potted plant on the shelves. 


For this build I stuck to using oak wood materials because they work well with the bookshelves. To change it up feel free to try using a different style of wood. You could also replace the chest with barrels, crafting tables, or other crafting stations.

For this build you need to combine bookshelves and barrels in a grid format. On the tallest side, add some oak trap doors to create a wall of sorts. As for the decorations, feel free to add an arrangement of potted plants and lanterns on the top of each stair.  Video Tutorial:  Try doubling up the build and making the staircase even larger. Jungle Wood Reading Desk

The build was designed to fit a 1 block by 9 block wall, making it perfect for even tiny Minecraft homes. All you'll need are some jungle wood stairs, a lectern, signs, trap doors and some barrels for storage. You can decorate the desk with whatever plants or lighting you like.  Another approach to this build would be to replace the lectern with an enchanting table or crafting bench. You could also change the wood to a style that you prefer! Feel free to customize this design and build it to fit your needs. As usual, let me know how your build turns out :)

Hidden Bed Bookcase

The bed is hidden behind two doors in the middle of the barrels and bookcases. Materials include bookshelves, barrels, beds, a painting and some lighting or plants as decoration. Add this build into a library in your base. The bed might come in handy when you need to sleep on the fly! Also, it is very important to leave the top open with a secret exit so that you can escape the bed without taking any damage (see below).
