Fancy Double Oak Bookcase

This is a fancy bookcase design that uses oak and dark oak blocks. Decorate the bookcase with a ladder, some plants and lanterns for light. Barrels can also be added to the build to make it also function as a storage area.

 

Definitely try to get creative with this build by combining different wood styles. I used oak and dark oak for this build, but it might be cool to mix something like spruce and birch wood. I would not recommend using more than two wood styles.

The design uses a very small amount of space and can be aligned to a small area wall. The materials used include Smokers to cook the food, spruce planks for the border, wood stairs for the counter, and hoppers for the vents.  For decoration you can add walls above the hoppers to make it look like pipes are leading outside of your home. If you want to change this build consider using other styles of wood stairs and planks. Normal furnaces can also replace the smokers if you want to cook ores as well. The minimal decoration pieces here (the dried plant and the lantern) can also be changed to whatever plant and lighting style works for your Minecraft home. Jungle Wood Reading Desk

The build was designed to fit a 1 block by 9 block wall, making it perfect for even tiny Minecraft homes. All you'll need are some jungle wood stairs, a lectern, signs, trap doors and some barrels for storage. You can decorate the desk with whatever plants or lighting you like.  Another approach to this build would be to replace the lectern with an enchanting table or crafting bench. Hidden Bed Bookcase

The bed is hidden behind two doors in the middle of the barrels and bookcases. Materials include bookshelves, barrels, beds, a painting and some lighting or plants as decoration. Add this build into a library in your base. The bed might come in handy when you need to sleep on the fly! Also, it is very important to leave the top open with a secret exit so that you can escape the bed without taking any damage (see below).
