Rustic Yellow Kitchen

Image
This is the yellow rustic kitchen design that I made for my farmhouse in Minecraft. The theme I was going for was bright and retro, with countryside vibes sprinkled in! This is also the first time that the background and floor colours have played a significant role in one of my interior design creations.  The design is made up of multiple kitchen utilities. The two borders are made up of barrel cupboards for storage. Iron blocks, cauldrons and tripwire hooks are used for the sinks and fridge. Smokers were also added as the main cooking blocks because a kitchen is where Minecraft food truly should be prepared. Hoppers rest above the smokers to catch the steam! The final touch to the build is the polished andesite stairs and blocks that make up the ceiling and countertops. Andesite is often underutilized in Minecraft and easily accessible. I thought it would be fun to add it to this build because it compliments the yellow concrete walls so nicely.  As usual, please let me know h...

Reading Nook Bed

Image
This is a bed built into a reading nook. In order to build this you should combine bookshelves and barrels as walls, stairs as a roof, and two bed on the floor. This design has lots of storage for your items, but also looks super cool in most bases. Hidden beds are very popular in Minecraft these days, and this design could be a great option for you.  Customize this build with coloured beds. To add more privacy, try adding in banners as curtains on the entrance of the bed. You could even have the banners and the beds coloured the same to make the build more unified.  As usual, please let me know how your build turns out :)

Library Couch

Image
I am now on Instagram! Follow me at  www.instagram.com/fun_minecraft_builds/ This library couch is made out of a combination of stairs, bookshelves, barrels, potted plants and lighting. Inspired by compact study and leisure spaces in small homes, this build will fit perfectly into a cabin or cottage in your Minecraft world. It can also fit nicely into a Minecraft library build, big or small. The clever use of bookshelves allow you to pair this build with a nearby enchanting table for low level enchantments. You can also use the barrels to store items (I would recommend storing enchanted and written books). To modify this build I would suggest using other kinds of wood such as spruce or dark oak. Keep in mind that if you do change the wood type it is important that it is all consistent. Mixing wood styles may not wield the best results. Another idea is to replace the bottom two book shelves with chests for more storage options.  As usual, please let me know how your build turns...

Compact Wood Kitchen with Stoves

Image
I am now on Instagram! Follow me at  www.instagram.com/fun_minecraft_builds/ If you are building a tiny or compact home in Minecraft and wish to install a food cooking area or kitchen, consider this build as an option. The design uses a very small amount of space and can be aligned to a small area wall. The materials used include Smokers to cook the food, spruce planks for the border, wood stairs for the counter, and hoppers for the vents.  For decoration you can add walls above the hoppers to make it look like pipes are leading outside of your home. If you want to change this build consider using other styles of wood stairs and planks. Normal furnaces can also replace the smokers if you want to cook ores as well. The minimal decoration pieces here (the dried plant and the lantern) can also be changed to whatever plant and lighting style works for your Minecraft home. As usual, please let me know how your build turns out :)

Tiny Spruce Dining Area

Image
I am now on Instagram! Follow me at  www.instagram.com/fun_minecraft_builds/ This is a small and compact dining area for you to enjoy a Minecraft dinner! There are two parts to this build: the table set and the cupboards. The table is made out of two end rods with horizontal spruce trapdoors on top. The chairs are simply made out of spruce stairs. The cupboards are horizontally placed barrels and can included potted plants on top as decoration.  This build is perfect for compact houses or bases with tiny kitchens! The barrels serve as functional storage blocks. I would recommend storing food items in them so that the theme fits! To change up the look and feel of this build you could do two things. 1. Alter the block style to a different kind of wood or stone. 2. expand or retract the width of the build so that it uses more or less space.  As usual, please let me know how your build turns out :)

Oak Bookshelf and Chest

Image
I am now on Instagram! Follow me at  www.instagram.com/fun_minecraft_builds/ This design tries to make the most of function and beauty in a tiny space. Place upside-down stairs down on each side and some bookshelves above them. The top layer is made of oak slabs. In the middle of the build is a chest with trapdoors placed above it that act as the shelves. As decoration, add a lantern and a potted plant on the shelves.  For this build I stuck to using oak wood materials because they work well with the bookshelves. To change it up feel free to try using a different style of wood. You could also replace the chest with barrels, crafting tables, or other crafting stations.  As usual, let me know how your build turns out :) Our Minecraft builder/author also makes shirts! If you would like to support the blog, please consider checking them out below!

Staircase Bookshelf

Image
I am now on Instagram! Follow me at  www.instagram.com/fun_minecraft_builds/ A fun and simple bookshelf build that is designed to look like a staircase. For this build you need to combine bookshelves and barrels in a grid format. On the tallest side, add some oak trap doors to create a wall of sorts. As for the decorations, feel free to add an arrangement of potted plants and lanterns on the top of each stair.  Video Tutorial:  Try doubling up the build and making the staircase even larger. You could also make a second staircase and mirror it with the first set to make more of a pyramid shape.  As usual, please let me know how your build turns out :)
